Jenkins – Installation

wget -q -O - https://pkg.jenkins.io/debian/jenkins.io.key | sudo apt-key add -

sudo sh -c 'echo deb https://pkg.jenkins.io/debian-stable binary/ > /etc/apt/sources.list.d/jenkins.list'

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install -y openjdk-8-jre
sudo apt-get install -y jenkins

# Load jenkins on the server
sudo systemctl status jenkins

# start jenkins as a service which will survive server restarts
sudo systemctl enable jenkins

# GO to a browser and type the server ip and port 8080

http:10.150.10.20:8080

You should see the screen for unlocking Jenkins which needs the password. This password can be found in 2 ways –

#first method sudo cat /var/lib/jenkins/secrets/InitialAdminPassword
